Generic Aceclofenac

Common use

Aceclofenac is prescribed to manage pain and inflammation in musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which reduces the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation.

Dosage and direction

Aceclofenac is usually taken orally, typically 100 mg twice daily or as prescribed by your doctor. Tablets should be taken with water after meals to reduce the risk of stomach irritation. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions carefully.

Precautions

Inform your doctor if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, kidney or liver disease, heart problems, or asthma. Avoid prolonged use without medical supervision. Monitor for signs of gastrointestinal discomfort or allergic reactions.

Contraindications

Do not use Aceclofenac if allergic to aceclofenac, aspirin, other NSAIDs, or any component of the tablet. It is contraindicated in patients with active gastrointestinal bleeding or severe heart, liver, or kidney disease.

Possible side effect

Common side effects include nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, or headache. Rare but serious side effects may include gastrointestinal bleeding, liver or kidney problems, allergic reactions, or cardiovascular events. Seek medical attention if severe symptoms occur.

Drug interaction

Aceclofenac may interact with anticoagulants, other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, antihypertensive drugs, or medications affecting kidney function. Inform your doctor of all prescription medications, over-the-counter products, and supplements you are taking.

Missed dose

If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember unless it is close to the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose.

Overdose

Overdose may cause severe gastrointestinal irritation, dizziness, kidney or liver problems, or bleeding. Seek immediate medical attention if overdose is suspected.

Storage

Store Aceclofenac at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep tablets in the original container and out of reach of children.
