Generic Betamethasone Valerate

Common Use
Betamethasone valerate is a medium to potent topical corticosteroid used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. It helps reduce swelling, redness, and itching. It is meant for short-term external use under medical supervision.

Dosage and Direction
Apply a thin layer of Betamethasone valerate to the affected skin once or twice daily as directed by your doctor. Do not use on broken skin, large areas, or for prolonged periods unless instructed. Always wash your hands before and after applying the cream unless your hands are the treated area.

Precautions
Avoid using Betamethasone valerate on the face, groin, or underarms unless advised by a physician. Prolonged use may lead to local or systemic corticosteroid effects. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have skin infections.

Contraindications

Drug Interaction
Topical Betamethasone valerate has a low risk of interactions, but combining it with other corticosteroid-containing medications may increase side effects. Inform your doctor about any topical or systemic medications you are using. Always follow your doctor’s instructions.

Missed Dose
If a dose is missed, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not apply extra medication to make up for a missed dose.

Overdose
Excessive application may result in systemic absorption and steroid-related side effects. In case of accidental ingestion or signs of overdose, seek medical help immediately. Symptoms may include fatigue, swelling, or hormonal imbalance.

Storage
Store Betamethasone valerate at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep the tube tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not freeze or expose to extreme temperatures.
