Generic Budecort

Common use
Budecort is a corticosteroid inhaler used to prevent and control symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps reduce inflammation in the airways, making breathing easier over time.

Dosage and direction
Use Budecort exactly as prescribed by your doctor, typically through oral inhalation. Rinse your mouth after use to minimize the risk of oral thrush.

Precautions
Inform your healthcare provider if you have a history of tuberculosis, infections, or immune system disorders. Budecort is not intended for quick relief during an asthma attack.

Contraindications
Do not use Budecort if you are allergic to Budesonide or any of its components. It should also be avoided during acute asthma episodes without a fast-acting inhaler.

Possible side effect
Side effects may include hoarseness, throat irritation, and oral yeast infections. In rare cases, it may cause allergic reactions or signs of adrenal suppression.

Drug interaction
Tell your doctor about all medications you’re using, especially antifungals or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors like ketoconazole. Interactions may alter how Budecort works or increase the risk of side effects.

Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one—do not double up.

Overdose
An overdose is unlikely with inhaled Budesonide but long-term excessive use can lead to systemic corticosteroid effects. Seek medical help if you suspect an overdose or experience unusual symptoms.

Storage
Store Budecort at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the inhaler cap closed tightly and out of reach of children.
