Common use

Dexone is a corticosteroid medication used to treat inflammation, allergic reactions, autoimmune disorders, and certain types of cancer. It mimics natural hormones produced by the adrenal glands to reduce swelling, redness, and immune system activity. Dexone is commonly prescribed for conditions like arthritis, asthma, lupus, and skin disorders. It is also used in emergency settings for severe allergic reactions or brain swelling.

Dosage and direction

The dosage of Dexone depends on the condition being treated, severity, and patient response. It may be taken orally as tablets, by injection, or topically, and is usually given once or multiple times daily. Always take the medication with food or milk to reduce stomach irritation. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not stop the drug abruptly without medical advice.

Precautions

Before using Dexone, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, hypertension, infections, or osteoporosis. Missed dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one—do not double up. Maintain a consistent schedule to keep medication levels stable. Inform your doctor if you frequently miss doses.

Overdose

An overdose of Dexone may cause increased side effects, including swelling, high blood pressure, confusion, or electrolyte imbalances. Chronic overdose can lead to Cushing’s syndrome or organ damage. Seek emergency help if overdose is suspected. Do not take more than prescribed, even if symptoms persist.

Storage

Store Dexone tablets at room temperature (15–30°C / 59–86°F) in a dry place away from heat and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Do not use expired medication. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
