Common use

Filitra is an oral medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains Vardenafil, a PDE5 inhibitor that enhances blood flow to the penis, helping to achieve and maintain a firm erection during sexual stimulation. Filitra is effective in restoring sexual function in men with mild to severe ED. It works only when sexual arousal is present.

Dosage and direction

The typical starting dose is 10 mg, taken about 25 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. The tablet should be swallowed with water and can be taken with or without food, although high-fat meals may slow its effect. Depending on response and tolerability, the dose may be adjusted by a healthcare provider. Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.

Precautions

Before using Filitra, consult a doctor, especially if you have a history of heart conditions, liver or kidney disease, low blood pressure, or vision problems. Avoid drinking alcohol or grapefruit juice, as they may interact with the medication and increase side effects. Filitra is not recommended for men advised to avoid sexual activity due to health risks. It should not be used by women or individuals under 18 years.

Contraindications

Filitra is contraindicated in patients taking nitrates, nitric oxide donors, or riociguat, due to the risk of dangerously low blood pressure. It should not be used by those allergic to Vardenafil or any of its components. People with recent stroke, heart attack, or severe heart disorders should avoid using this drug. Always consult a healthcare provider before starting Filitra.

Possible side effect

Common side effects include headache, flushing, runny or stuffy nose, dizziness, and indigestion. Some users may experience temporary vision changes such as color sensitivity or blurred vision. Rare but serious effects include chest pain, prolonged erection, sudden vision or hearing loss, and fainting. Seek immediate medical help if you experience any severe symptoms.

Drug interaction

Filitra may interact with nitrates, alpha-blockers, antifungals, HIV medications, and certain antibiotics. Taking it with other ED drugs or substances like recreational "poppers" may lead to serious health risks. Always inform your healthcare provider of any medications or supplements you are taking. Avoid combining it with alcohol, which can worsen side effects.

Missed dose

Filitra is taken as needed, so there is usually no issue with missed doses. Take the tablet only when sexual activity is planned. Do not take extra tablets to make up for a missed opportunity. Wait at least 24 hours before taking another dose.

Overdose

Overdose symptoms may include severe dizziness, fainting, irregular heartbeat, or prolonged erections. If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency medical attention immediately. Taking too much Filitra increases the risk of serious side effects. Always use the medication as directed by a doctor.

Storage

Store Filitra at room temperature (20–25°C / 68–77°F) in a dry place, away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Keep the tablets in their original packaging. Ensure they are stored out of reach of children and pets. Do not use the medicine after the expiration date printed on the package.
