Common Use

Ilaxten tablets are used for the long-term treatment and management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, and may also be prescribed for asthma in adults. The medication works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, helping improve airflow and making breathing easier.

Dosage and Direction

Take Ilaxten tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The medication is usually taken once daily with water, preferably at the same time each day. Tablets may be taken with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablets unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.

Precautions

Before taking Ilaxten, inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, urinary retention, prostate enlargement, heart disease, kidney problems, or liver disorders. Contact your doctor if you experience difficulty urinating, eye pain, rapid heartbeat, or worsening breathing symptoms. Ilaxten should not be used for sudden breathing attacks.

Contraindications

Do not use Ilaxten if you are allergic to tiotropium, atropine, or similar medications. The medicine should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to anticholinergic drugs.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects may include dry mouth, headache, cough, throat irritation, constipation, or dizziness. Serious side effects can include rapid heartbeat, urinary retention, worsening glaucoma symptoms, or allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if severe side effects occur.

Drug Interaction

Ilaxten may interact with other anticholinergic medications or drugs that affect heart rhythm. Inform your doctor about all prescription medications, over-the-counter products, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are taking.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose may include severe dry mouth, fast heartbeat, blurred vision, confusion, or difficulty urinating. Seek emergency medical attention immediately if an overdose is suspected.

Storage

Store Ilaxten tablets at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. Keep the medication in its original packaging and out of reach of children and pets.
