Generic Lodine

Common Use
Lodine is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as acute pain. It helps reduce inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. The medication improves mobility and daily functioning in patients with inflammatory conditions.

Dosage and Direction
The dosage depends on the condition being treated and patient response. For arthritis, adults typically take 300–500 mg two to three times daily or an extended-release formulation once daily. Take Lodine with food or milk to reduce stomach irritation. Follow your doctor’s instructions and do not exceed the recommended dose.

Precautions
Before using Lodine, inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, heart disease, high blood pressure, or kidney problems. Long-term use may increase the risk of cardiovascular events or gastrointestinal bleeding. Regular medical monitoring may be required during prolonged therapy.

Contraindications
Do not use Lodine if you are allergic to etodolac or other NSAIDs. It is contraindicated in patients with active gastrointestinal bleeding or a history of severe allergic reactions to aspirin or NSAIDs. Avoid use during late pregnancy.

Possible Side Effects
Common side effects include stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, or headache. Serious side effects may involve gastrointestinal bleeding, chest pain, or kidney problems. Seek immediate medical attention if severe symptoms occur.

Drug Interaction
Lodine may interact with blood thinners, corticosteroids, antihypertensive drugs, and other NSAIDs. These interactions may increase the risk of bleeding or reduce blood pressure control. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications and supplements you are taking.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Overdose
Overdose may cause severe stomach pain, vomiting, drowsiness, or gastrointestinal bleeding. Seek immediate medical attention if an overdose is suspected. Treatment is supportive and may include gastric protection and monitoring.

Storage
Store Lodine at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date.
