Renova

Common use
Renova is an oral medication used to treat severe acne that has not responded to other treatments. Isotretinoin, the active ingredient, reduces oil gland activity, inflammation, and the formation of acne lesions.

Dosage and direction
Take Renova exactly as prescribed, usually once or twice daily with food to improve absorption. Swallow the capsules whole with a full glass of water—do not crush or chew them.

Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, high cholesterol, mental health issues, or are pregnant. Strict birth control measures are essential during treatment, as Isotretinoin can cause severe birth defects.

Contraindications
Do not use Renova if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or allergic to Isotretinoin or vitamin A derivatives. It is also not recommended for use while breastfeeding.

Possible side effect
Common side effects include dry skin, lips, and eyes, joint pain, and increased sun sensitivity. Serious side effects may involve mood changes, liver issues, or vision problems.

Drug interaction
Avoid using vitamin A supplements, tetracycline antibiotics, or alcohol while taking Renova, as they may increase the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor about all medications and supplements you take.

Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for your next dose. Do not double up to make up for the missed one.

Overdose
Overdose may lead to symptoms of vitamin A toxicity, such as severe headache, dizziness, or vomiting. Seek immediate medical help if an overdose is suspected.

Storage
Store Renova at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. Keep the capsules tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
