Generic Tazorac

Common Use:

Tazorac is commonly used to treat mild to moderate acne and stable plaque psoriasis. It helps reduce redness, scaling, and inflammation while preventing new acne formation.

Dosage and Direction:

Apply a thin layer of Tazorac to the affected skin once daily, usually in the evening. Clean and dry the skin before application, and use exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.

Precautions:

Avoid excessive sun exposure while using Tazorac, as it increases skin sensitivity. Do not use on eczema, sunburned skin, or open wounds, and inform your doctor if you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Contraindications:

Tazorac should not be used by individuals who are allergic to tazarotene or other retinoids. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy due to the potential risk of birth defects.

Possible Side Effect:

Common side effects include dryness, redness, burning, stinging, or peeling of the skin. Severe irritation or allergic reaction is rare but should be reported to a doctor.

Drug Interaction:

Avoid using other topical products that can cause irritation, such as alcohol-based cleansers or exfoliants, unless directed by your doctor. Let your healthcare provider know about all medications, especially other retinoids or photosensitizing agents.

Missed Dose:

If a dose is missed, apply it as soon as you remember. If it’s close to your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one—do not apply more than prescribed.

Overdose:

Topical overdose is unlikely but may increase skin irritation. In case of accidental ingestion, seek emergency medical assistance immediately.

Storage:

Store at room temperature away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep the tube tightly closed and out of reach of children.
