Common Use
Testosterone topical is used in men to treat conditions caused by a lack of natural testosterone, such as hypogonadism. It helps restore normal testosterone levels, improving symptoms like low libido, fatigue, depression, reduced muscle mass, and erectile dysfunction. It is applied to the skin and absorbed into the bloodstream.

Dosage and Direction
Testosterone gel, cream, or solution is typically applied once daily in the morning to clean, dry, intact skin on the shoulders, upper arms, or abdomen, depending on the product. Wash hands thoroughly after application and allow the area to dry before dressing. Avoid swimming or showering for several hours after application unless otherwise instructed.

Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have a history of prostate or breast cancer, heart disease, liver or kidney problems, or sleep apnea. Regular monitoring of blood testosterone levels, PSA (prostate-specific antigen), and liver function is recommended. Women and children should avoid skin contact with the application site.

Contraindications
Do not use testosterone topical in men with breast or prostate cancer. It is contraindicated in women, especially during pregnancy, due to the risk of masculinization in the fetus. Avoid use if you have hypersensitivity to any ingredients in the product.

Possible Side Effects
Common side effects include skin irritation at the application site, increased red blood cell count, acne, and hair growth. Serious effects may include mood changes, liver problems, prostate enlargement, or cardiovascular events. Report symptoms like chest pain, swelling, or difficulty breathing immediately.

Drug Interaction
Testosterone topical may interact with insulin, anticoagulants like warfarin, and corticosteroids, potentially affecting blood sugar and bleeding risk. Always inform your doctor about all current medications and supplements.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember on the same day. If it is the next day, skip the missed dose. Do not double the amount to make up for a missed dose.

Overdose
Accidental overdose may cause excessive testosterone effects such as aggression, acne, or gynecomastia. In children, accidental exposure may cause early puberty or enlarged genitals. Seek medical help immediately in case of overdose or accidental contact in others.

Storage
Store testosterone topical at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and avoid storing near open flames, as some formulations are flammable. Dispose of used packets or pumps according to local regulations.
