Generic Zinconia

Common use

Zinconia is prescribed to prevent or treat zinc deficiency, which can affect immunity, wound healing, growth, and overall metabolism. It is also used to support immune function during infections, improve skin health, and reduce the severity of colds.

Dosage and direction

Zinconia is usually taken once daily, with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water. Do not exceed the recommended dose, as excessive zinc intake may cause side effects.

Precautions

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other vitamin/mineral supplements. Long-term high-dose zinc use may affect copper levels or immune balance. Take Zinconia with food if stomach upset occurs.

Contraindications

Do not use Zinconia if you have a known hypersensitivity to zinc or any component of the formulation. People with certain metabolic or gastrointestinal conditions should consult a doctor before use.

Possible side effect

Common side effects include nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, metallic taste, and headache. Very high doses may cause vomiting, weakness, or mineral imbalance.

Drug interaction

Zinc may interact with antibiotics (such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones), penicillamine, and iron or copper supplements. To avoid reduced absorption, take zinc at least 2–3 hours apart from interacting medications.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose, take it when you remember. If it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

Overdose

Zinc overdose may cause severe nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, or mineral imbalance. Seek immediate medical attention if overdose is suspected.

Storage

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep the tablets in their original container and out of reach of children.
